Meeting - 3rd Sept 2013

The meeting commenced at 7.29 pm with the ASA, Kent, calling the meeting to order.

Guests: Andrew San, Brandon Foo, Ian Tang, Chironjit, Petrine Yap, Sharmini, Francis Chong, Eng Liew, Kelvin Yee, Richard, Yeo Lee Chin, Chua Teik Soon, Afsha Hossairi, Low Jiong Lin, Harinvindran and Henry.

The Acting President, Ranjit, gave the Opening Speech. The theme of the meeting was "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail" & word of the day was ‘Meticulous’

During the Introductions, Members and Guests were asked to share the failures they had in the past. Failures shared ranged from “ Failed to have social interaction with others”, “Failed to listen to inner voice”,”Failed to attend TM meeting earlier” & “Failed to plan for future and finance” . However, we also had someone who “failed to fail” and some enlightening sharing such as” failures shall be engaged as positive experiences and treated as lessons in life”.

TME, Reuben, took the baton to introduce the history of TM Club before introducing role players.

The Role players were:
General Evaluator – Chironjit
Grammarian – Lucky
Ah Counter – Anita
Timer - Kertar

Then the TME introduced the Table Topics Master, Ranjani, who invited 5 volunteer speakers:

Kelvin (guest)- Planning is a nightmare for me.
Gan (TM)- Planners are not borne, they are made.
Eng Liew(guest)- More planning is equivalent to less action.
Jiong (guest)- Fun and planning do not go well together.
Dinesh (TM)-The best thing that happened to me was planning.

The Table Topics Evaluator, Sharmini, gave her feedback which was positive as well as constructive. 

After a break of 10 minutes the ASA, Kent, called the meeting to order when TME, Reuben, introduced the Speakers Johnson, Lucky and Kent whose Evaluators were Elaine, Dinesh and Ranjit respectively. After the 3 speeches, the TME handed over the control to the GE, Chironjit, who invited the Evaluators one by one to present their evaluations. The Role players were invited to give their reports and then the GE presented his thoughts on the meeting conducted. Then the  control was given back to the TME.

The awards were presented to the “Best three”  of the evening:

Meeting - 20th Aug 2013

It was a ‘full house’ with 30+ people yesterday including members and guests !! 

We had 15 guests –Yeo Lee Chin, Richard, Penny, Nur Diyanah, Nurul Ainri, Cheah Teik Seon, Han Hoang, Kelvin Yee Wai Weng, Kehanesh Mahendra, Anu Pansare, Yeow Tee Gan, Ian Han, Sharmini, Rengan, Kumar

Many of the guests have already decided to join us as Members! We extend a hearty welcome to all of them and look forward to meeting them all at the next meeting.

The theme of the evening was ‘Women in Toastmasters’ and the word of the day was ‘Comely’.

The meeting started with ASA Reuben calling the meeting to order and welcome speech by Acting President Lucky. After a brief introduction by all , the President handed over the reins to TME Anita.

The TME, Anita, introduced the Role players:

General Evaluator – Renganathan, DTM
Grammarian – Ranjini, ACS
Ah-counter – Kim
Timer – Kuhan

Then the TME, Anita, introduced the Table Topics Master, Shobha, who invited 5 volunteers (Han, Ranjit, Anu, Yeow and Dinesh) to speak on the topics very relevant to the theme of the evening. The table Topics Evaluator Sharmini presented her lively evaluation on the speeches given.

After a short break of 10 minutes, ASA Reuben called the meeting back to order when TME Anita introduced the speakers  Kertar, Mala and Elaine whose Evaluators were Dinesh, Wai Leong and Ranjit respectively. After the 3 speeches the TME handed over the control to the General Evaluator Rengan who invited the Evaluators to the floor one by one to give their evaluations. The Role Players presented their reports later and the control was returned back to the TME.

The Best Table Topics Speaker as well as Best Evaluator of the evening were awarded to Ranjit, and the Best Speaker of the evening was Elaine.

Meeting - 6th August 2013

There couldn’t have been a better theme for the evening than ‘Going Home (Hari Raya)’ with Hari raya round the corner and  festive atmosphere all over the country. It was the 1st meeting of August. The meeting started with the ASA Johnson calling the meeting to order and welcome speech by Acting President Reuben. The introductions were interesting as everyone was reminiscing about their native place and sharing their memories of ‘going home’.

The TME Ranjani introduced the Role players:
General Evaluator – Ranjit
Grammarian – Kertar
Ah-counter – Vasanthi
Timer – Kim

Our new member Johnson was inducted into Toastmasters Club by Lucky (VPM). Welcome to Bangsar Toastmasters Johnson! We wish you a great journey here.

The TME Ranjani introduced the Table Topics Master Lourdes who invited 4 volunteers Shobha, Lucky, Ranjit and Dinesh to speak on the topics which evolved right then and there by Lourdes! The table Topics Evaluator Aziza presented her evaluation on the speeches given.

After a short break of 10 minutes, ASA Johnson called the meeting back to order when TME Ranjani introduced the speakers  Zaim, Lucky and Reuben whose Evaluators were Mala, Sharmini and Dinesh respectively. After the 3 speeches the TME handed over the control to the General Evaluator Ranjit who invited the Evaluators to the floor one by one to give their evaluations. The Role Players presented their reports later and the control was returned back to the TME.

The Best Table Topics speaker of the evening was Lucky, the Best Evaluators were Mala and Sharmini, and the Best Speaker of the evening was Reuben.

The guests present were Aziza Hassan, GS Ong, Jess and Kumar.
